Third Annual Holiday Card Contest
A Call to Artists
Use your creativity to help celebrate Cincinnati history!
M. Hopple & Co., Cincinnati’s premier fine paper goods retailer, is
proud to announce our third annual Holiday Card Contest. This year’s
contest will feature Cincinnati neighborhoods, landmarks and special
places. Art depicting our distinctive bridges, our beautiful local
parks, the vibrant city center and Fountain Square area, historic
Findlay Market, our skyline or riverfront views, or unique
neighborhoods like Mt. Adams and Price Hill are welcome. Artists are
encouraged to use their imaginations to create a piece that
showcases our city!
A distinguished panel of judges will select three submissions plus
one student submission, and these four designs will be printed as
part of the 2008 CityArt Holiday Card Collection. The collection
will be sold at M. Hopple & Co. Kenwood, with a portion of the
proceeds going to ArtWorks, a nonprofit arts organization that
offers job training, creative services, and public art to the
Greater Cincinnati community. This year's judges include
award-winning cartoonist Jim Borgman, renowned artist Brett Harper
of Harper Studios, founded by Charley and Edie Harper, and Doug
Bolton, Publisher of the Cincinnati Business Courier.
Winning art from this competition has been featured on a local
morning news show, the Fountain Square Jumbotron, and in numerous
newspapers and other media outlets in our region. In 2007, over
10,000 CityArt Holiday Cards were sold. |
